StarPeace will make a new sky bridge between India and Pakistan
Saturday, February 7, 2009
Two astronomy groups from Pakistan and India are going to celebrate StarPeace during lunar eclipse at February 9, 2009.

Kutch Amateur Astronomy club from India in cooperation with The Society of the Sun from Pakistan will hold a joint public star party during the lunar eclipse of February 9.

StarPeace Pakistani ambassador, Hassaan Ghazali with his group will hold the public star party in Lahore, 31.48 N / 74.33 E. The program will start at 1800 hrs (Pakistan standard time is GMT+5) with a lecture and introductions. At 18:30 the observation session will start while the moon is high enough to be seen by unaided eye and binoculars. In parallel with the observation a basic lecture on the Sun-Earth-Moon system with questions and answers will be taken.

Meanwhile StarPeace Indian colleague, Narendra Sagar Gor and his group are organizing a public star party in Bhuj, 23.18 N / 069.42 E. These two groups will communicate with each other during the night.

The goal of these joint star parties is to show that science has no border. It doesn’t matter where you live and what your nationality is, the sky is the same every where. Although Pakistani and Indian people are separated with borderlines, the sky can join them like a bridge of peace between two nations.
